MANSFIELD, OH- The Kiwanis Club of Mansfield has named Rosabelle as the Purrfect Cat in Richland County.

During the Purrfect Cat celebration at the Cypress Hill Winery at Hudson and Essex, two wines inspired by Rosabelle were unveiled.

"It is a collaboration with the Kiwanis Club of Mansfield and Cypress Hill Winery and the Idex Foundation through Warren Rupp," Kiwanis Club of Mansfield President Elect Jessica Dulle said.  "And we are celebrating Rosabelle today by sampling some of her Chardonnay and Cabernet here at the winery."

All of the money raised from the competition is going to support The Friendly House community center in Mansfield.

"They told us they needed some mini buses so we decided to collaborate with some partners and put on a contest to find the purrfect cat in Richland County and help them get some new buses," Dulle said.

The Purrfect Cat competition followed up the Coolest Dog in Richland County competition that took place over the summer.  Both fundraising events were very successful according to Dulle. Around 70 different cats were entered into the competition and raised almost $9,000.  Between the two competitions the Kiwanis Club raised $24,404 for the Friendly House just from votes.

"We're going to continue fundraising.  We've got the first bus purchased and the Friendly House has been using it.  They've done over 20 rides alone this summer for kids in the area and we're working on securing funds for the second bus," Dulle said.
