The city of Shelby on Saturday will honor veterans from throughout the state of Ohio who fought in the Vietnam War. The city is gearing up for its first ever "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Parade."

Mayor Bill Freytag said city council has been working with parade coordinator Bill Staton on the activities planned for the special event.

The parade steps off at 2 p.m. at Grand Boulevard and travels west on Main St., south to Gamble St., and will end at Tucker Ave.

Freytag said upwards of 10,000 people potentially coulc attend the parade as well as Vietnam veterans from all 88 counties.
