Richland County Board of Elections Deputy Director Jeff Wilkinson said voting has run smoothly today at various polling places.

Wilkinson said the board of elections predicted 38 percent of registered voters would head to the polls. He said voters had many things to decide.

Wilkinson said polls opened at 6:30 a.m. and will stay open until 7:30 p.m. Wilkinson expects election returns to be a little bit slower than usual because of a large number of write-in ballots that election officials will have to process.
