A Jeromesville teenager died Wednesday after a two-vehicle accident Tuesday night just south of Hayesville.

Jacob Ringler, 19, was pronounced dead around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday at Cleveland Metrohealth Medical Center.

The Ashland State Highway Patrol reported that five people were injured in the accident that occurred Tuesday at 9:15 p.m. at Ohio 60 and County Road 2175.

The patrol says Ringler was traveling west on County Road 2175 and failed to stop his car at a stop sign. Ringler struck a car traveling south on Ohio 60 driven by Aimee Young, 41, of Loudonville. 

Young had to be extricated from her vehicle by mechanical means. Both drivers were taken to Ashland Samaritan Hospital. Young was transferred to Cleveland Metrohealth, where she remains in critical condition.

Three passenger's in Young's vehicle were also injured and taken to area hospitals: Emma Fetzer, 15, of Perrysville, was released after treatment at Ashland Samaritan; Sydney Spots, 15, of Loudonville was released after treatment at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital; and Laura Teiga, 15, of Loudonville, was taken to Wooster Comunity Hospital where she was treated and released.
