Tea and pastries share the menu with poets and musicians at the First Friday gigs says Twisted Fig owner Joyce Wells. ..
Poets and musicians are lining up to perform once a month at the Twisted Fig Tea Room in downtown Mansfield. These monthly gigs are open to the public and performers are invited to take part in the open-mike sessions after the regularly scheduled performances.

Performing on Feb. 1 will be poets Larry and Rob Smith and Jim Hayes. Musicians David and Gilda Altman, along with Jeff Bell, are also scheduled to play.

The first live entertainment night on Jan. 4 featured poets Connie Everett of Columbus and Ben Rader of Willard. Roger Lehman of Columbus and Sarah Goslee Reed of Mount Vernon were the featured vocalists and musicians. Mansfield Poet Mark Hersman was the master of ceremonies.

Twisted Fig owner Joyce Wells says she hopes these poetry and music nights inspire more people to explore what's happening in Mansfield's historic Carrousel District. The Twisted Fig serves German loose leaf teas, artisan cheeses, gourmet savories and Eatmor Bundts.
