David Thomas Haas, 63, of Centerburg and formerly of Galion, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 at Centerburg Pointe, in Centerburg.

Born April 18, 1946 in Galion, he was the son of the late Joseph Haas and Lucille (Ruth) Haas.

David was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a charter member of Fairway-Waycraft in Bucyrus having attended there for 40 years. He previously lived in a group home in Bucyrus and for the last six years he has lived in Centerburg.

Surviving are three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Gene and Jo Haas and Rev. Robert Haas, all of Galion and Richard and Pat Haas of Cincinnati; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Ruth Friel and Barbara and Bill Burkhart, all of Galion and one sister-in-law, Phyllis Haas of Hollywood Fla.

He was preceded in death by parents and one brother, Bill Haas.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion, with his brother, Father Robert Haas officiating. The family will receive friends following the mass at the St. Joseph Parish Activity Center. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
