Strides 5K; Pour One Nine Beerfest And REN Events On Tap

MANSFIELD, OH -  The 2019 Fall edition of the Pour One Nine Beerfest returns Saturday night to the beautiful Kingwood Center Gardens.

The 5th "Pour One Nine" Beerfest will bring together Ohio breweries with a variety of craft beer selections for ticket holders to sample.    

Approximately 20 different brews will be on tap but wine enthusiasts will enjoy wine selections too. Designated drivers will be offered free water and pop too.  

Kirk Barkdull will entertain with live music while you stroll the Kingwood grounds and enjoy lit pumpkins and a cigar garden too. 

Tickets are available one of three ways:; through the Price Drops store or text the word BEERFEST to 74574. 

Regardng parking, use the Linden Rd entrance and park at Mansfield Sr. High's lot or you can shuttle over from the former Spitzer Motors lot on Park Ave. West. 


Hundreds of people will converge down at the Brickyard come Saturday morning for the annual walk, the "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K". 

A tradition in Mansfield, the 5K will leave the Brickyard promptly at 10am following registration at 9am and cycle up towards Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital and back to the Brickyard through the streets of town. 

This walk is a walk of the American Cancer Society. Please show your support.

All are welcome to join late and register the day of to walk or make a pledge towards a team already in place. 


Coming to the Renaissance Theatre this Sunday at 3pm is something near and dear to Director Maestro Octavio Mas-Arocas' heart - family -  and the newly created Family Pops concert. 

Designed with the family in mind, this concert will take you to magical places fairytales and dreams.

Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings will join the MSO on particular repertoire in this concert, and MY Theatre will perform selections from Frozen Jr.

Looking ahead...

Next weekend will be a big weekend for local events in the community and one of those is a fun night out at Richland Academy of the Arts in their very first Superheroes' Night Out on October 26.

For one night only, from 6 - 8pm, the Academy will be transformed into a top-secret superhero headquarters. The evening will be geared towards children, obviously, with music, dancing and food too.

Tickets are on sale now at $23 dollars a person or a 4-pack for $80. Tickets must be purchased in advance at 419-522-8224.


And lastly...

Auditions are coming up at the end of the month for a comedy coming to the Mansfield Playhouse called "Dearly Departed" by David Bottrell and Jesse Jones.      

Auditions are October 29 and 30 at 7:00 pm. 

The story is built around the Turpin family as they gather to bury their Daddy. Several story lines will feature hilarity at every turn. This Is a don't miss event and is a bellyful of Baptist backwoods Bible Belt fun! 

Show dates for "Dearly Departed" will be in January 2020.

    The City of Ashland will kick off the holiday season with this year's annual Christmas Parade and Official Christmas Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 7, 2019 in downtown Ashland. The fireworks display will return this year immediately following the tree lighting ceremony.
