MANSFIELD, OH - The Salvation Army of Mansfield pulled out all the stops this holiday season for their red kettle campaign.

Friday and Saturday, they displayed a giant red kettle at various locations in Mansfield to serve as a reminder to citizens to donate money to support their local Salvation Army.

Captain Melissa Betts stated that the money goes toward funding local services that the Salvation Army provides such as utility help, rent help, and emergency food services.

On Friday, the giant kettle was spotted over at Kroger on Lexington Avenue and on Saturday it was in front of the Walmart on Possum Run Rd.

This is the first year that the local Salvation Army has displayed the kettle, which stands between five and six feet tall, and it was brought in from Salem, Ohio.

The Salvation Army will still have their small kettles out until December 23rd and you can also donate online.
