MANSFIELD, OH - The Richland Area Chamber of Commerce has seen growth in their Young Entrepreneurs Academy.

In 2017, the academy only had three members. In 2018, that number rose up to 15 members.

"There was a lot of going out in the schools, talking to students, seeing them at open houses, registration... to really kind of build the excitement for the program this year" Nikki Lewis, Foundation Director, said.

The students bring a total of 13 different businesses to the program. The businesses range from entertainment to clothing lines, to board games.

The Richland Area Chamber of Commerce wants to focus on teaching the next generation how to successfully run a business in the Mansfield area.

"A lot of the companies that you see when you drive around town were started by families years ago." Jodie Perry, President of the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce, said. "We think this program kind of seeds those names for the next century."
