SHELBY, OH - The Shelby Police Department added two new officers to its roster Wednesday evening.

Sean Nolen and Jordan Swart are the newest additions to the Shelby Police department after they were sworn in by Shelby mayor Steven L. Schag during a ceremony held at the Shelby Justice Center.

Nolen brings experience to Shelby PD, having worked previously for a few other departments, most recently Crestline. Swart, on the other hand, just graduated from the police academy in 2017 where he was a standout in his class.

Shelby Police Chief Lance Combs presided over the ceremony and was happy to be bringing in new officers and complimentary of them.

"We're a dispatcher and four officers down right now and so today we've selected and sworn in two new officers to fill in those ranks," Combs said Wednesday, "One of these guys brings a little bit of experience which will be good and he has a pretty strong background. The other one is very young, very qualified. He received some awards in the academy, he's got an associates degree in law enforcement already."

We wish Officers Nolen and Swart the best of luck in their new positions.
