ASHLAND, OH- Over the weekend The United Way of Ashland County stood post in front of the Walmart on East Main street to collect a bus-load of school supplies for children in the community.

This is the 11th year that the United Way of Ashland County has held this school supply drive and each year children in need are identified through partner charities and organizations.

United Way Volunteer Marilynn Ferguson expects they will be able to help between 400 and 600 children in Ashland County.

"We want to make sure that everyone--all the students that go back to school have the supplies they need," Ferguson said. "I think this is an exciting thing and I've been participating in this since it started. I think it's just wonderful and I appreciate it."
