Spinach Spills Across I-71 After Roll-Over Crash

MANSFIELD, OH - A commercial vehicle crash resulted in one being transported and spinach to be spilled on a part of I-71.

The crash occurred on I-71 Northbound near milepost 170 in Washington Township on November 11th, 2018 at 4:05 PM. 

A White 2015 Volvo Semi-truck, driven by Ghadir Aboud, age 50 of Erie, Pennslyvania was driving on I-71 Northbound near milepost 170 when the driver drove off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected and overturned, blocking the center and right lanes of I-71, according to a press release from the Ohio Highway Patrol. 

Aboud was transporting a load of spinach that spilled across I-71. 

Traffic was backed up as a result of the crash. Traffic was extended approximately 10 miles south of the crash on I-71 in the northbound lanes. 

Aboud was transported to Ohio Health Mansfield, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Aboud was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. 

Alcohol was not a contributing factor to the crash.
