ASHLAND,OH- Josh Sommers is on a journey to be able to walk again after sustaining severe injuries that took away his ability to walk.

Sommers joined the United States Army in 2007 as a member of the 101st Airborne Division. While on a mission in Afghanistan on June 14th, 2010, a rocket fired towards a tree that he was under caused shrapnel to rain down on Josh and his brothers.

The attack left Josh with severe injuries causing him to suffer three strokes and in a coma for eight months.

When Josh awoke, he had no idea where he was, and had trouble grasping the extent of his injuries.

However, Josh decided that his ultimate goal was to be able to walk again and run a marathon.

With the help of family and friends supporting him, Josh Sommers is currently going through physical therapy. Josh hopes that his road to recovery will inspire others to achieve thier goals.
