ONTARIO, OH - Ontario Police made an arrest Tuesday night in Tuesday's attempted robbery of a woman using the drive-thru ATM at the Directions Credit Union on West Fourth Street.

The suspect is 42-year-old John Ray Rossi of Plymouth. Police also identified his 2006 Saturn Ion and found him while he was driving.

Rossi was arraigned from the Richland County Jail and was ordered a $100,000 cash bond by Magistrate Phil Naumoff.

He could face a maximum of 8 years in prison and up to a $5,000 fine for the robbery, if found guilty.

Rossi also pleaded not guilty to a second-degree misdemeanor charge of criminal damaging after he hit a panic button in an interview room at the Ontario Police Department. For this, he can face a 90-day sentence and a fine up to $750.00 with a cash bond of $10,000.

Ontario Police say Rossi has not yet been charged with a robbery of a woman and her young son at the Mechanics Bank ATM, but they believe he was the robber in that case.

Mansfield Police are still investigating whether Rossi committed an ATM robbery at Directions Credit Union on South Diamond Street, and the Richland County Sheriff's office is investigating if Rossi robbed an ATM customer at Mechanics Bank on Ashland Road.
