ONTARIO, OH - The Humane Society of Richland County is looking for volunteers to assist in everything from playing with the animals to tabling at community events.

Executive Director Missy Houghton says that even if you don't have much time to spare for volunteer work, something as easy as stopping in to walk a dog or help feed the cats can help.

The Humane Society is also looking for potential foster families who could temporarily house some of the cats. This gives the animals a chance to socialize while freeing up space for other animals.

Houghton emphasized that volunteers work with a very flexible schedule.

Volunteers may be able to take advantage of special adoption prices and a chance to meet new incoming animals before they are officially put up for adoption.
