CINCINNATI, OH - A mother in Cincinnati is charged with assault, endangering children and fraud, after prosecutors say she exaggerated the child's medical condition, putting the boy in danger.

Testimony is underway in the trial of Monika Burgett.

She's accused of repeatedly telling lies about her son's condition, even creating Go-Fund-Me pages to get people to donate money.

The prosecution called Dr. Alexandra Szabova to testify.

She prescribed the medication at Cincinnati Children's Hospital based on symptoms Burgett was describing, but later decided to wean him off the drug.

The defense argued Dr. Szabova may have been in the wrong by prescribing the drugs.

But she says the amount prescribed was not enough to hurt the child.
