MANSFIELD, OH - A driver was arrested after an accident in Mansfield Friday. Police were called to North Main Street in Mansfield, just across the street from the Valero for a vehicle that had gone off the road.

The vehicle, a Ford Taurus, was upright in the ditch and had struck a few smaller trees.

Officers on scene say the driver slammed on his brakes as traffic suddenly slowed in front of him, causing him to swerve on the slick road and going off to his right. He was driving south bound. The accident occurred shortly after 3:30 P.M.

Both the driver and his passenger were unharmed in the accident, and the driver was arrested on an unrelated warrant. The driver was also charged with failure to control.

We have no details on the unrelated warrant at this time.
