BUCYRUS, OH - Students from the Bucyrus City School District brought some holiday cheer to Bucyrus City Hall by hanging Christmas decorations on Tuesday.

The program started six years ago as a way to get local students involved in public service and to build community pride. The ornaments that were hung up were handmade by students in the Elementary and Secondary School Afterschool Programs, the district's Preschool Program, and Ms. Allie Hawkins' kindergarten class.

Fourteen members of the Bucyrus High School Student Council volunteered to hang the decorations. The volunteers included: Emmelia Bloomfield, Isidora Burling, Annabella Flores-Eidson, Randall Elchert, Paige Harper, Abigail Hart, Mason Light, Riley Moody, Samantha Murtiff, Shaina Orewiler, Daniell Predieri, Alex Rule, Kade Slagel, and Allyson Stewart.

Secondary School Principal, Dr. Mark Burke, stated, "This is always one of our Student Council's favorite projects. It's a wonderful opportunity for our students to engage with city leadership and give back to the community."

The City Hall Christmas Tree and ornaments will be on display throughout the whole Christmas season for all community members to enjoy.
