MANSFIELD, OH - Crossroads Church opened a new location in Downtown Mansfield on Thursday.

A ribbon cutting was held to celebrate the grand opening of the city center located at 29 North Main Street. The location will primarily be used for service opportunities and to meet the needs of the community.

"We have kind of been talking about what are some of the holes in the community that we can help meet," Dave Vance, Lead Pastor at Crossroads Community Church, said.

The center will offer basic classes to kids and families in the local area. An addiction recovery program called Celebrate Recovery will also use the city center for their meetings. All classes and meetings are open to the public.

"The hope is not only to bring people here that need help but also to bring our church down here to help serve our city." Vance said.

The process to bring the city center to downtown Mansfield started 14 months ago as a part of the Vision 20/20 program. The program is a 3-year financial program that crossroads church funded, with $1.1 million dollars committed to the programs three steps.

10-15 buildings in Mansfield were considered for the new city center. The church found out that the 29 North Main Street location was going to be put on sale in the near future, and decided to carry forth plans to buy the location.

"We believe god really put the pieces together to buy this place at that time." Vance said.
