Highway Patrol Investigating Fatal Crash In Ashland County

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, OH - A fatal crash occurred Wednesday morning, resulting in the death of an Ashland woman. 

At approximately 8:33 AM, a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee was westbound on CR 1302. The jeep was driven by Nicole Marie Myers, age 23, of Ashland, Ohio.

Myers lost control of the jeep and went off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. After impact with the tree, the jeep came to a final rest in a grassy area off of the roadway. Myers suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. 

She was transported to University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center. 

The Ashland County Sheriff's office and Ashland County Fire & EMS assisted at the scene. Myers was wearing her seatbelt and alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be contributing factors in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
