MANSFIELD, OH - For the 8th Annual Community Garden Summit, several local organizations banded together to bring a variety of exhibits and speakers to Mansfield's Longview Center.

The Garden Summit is a partnership between the North End Community Improvement Collaborative (NECIC), Ohio State Mansfield, the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library, Gorman Nature Center, and many others. The aim of the Summit is to introduce visitors and guests to programs and events that help improve surrounding areas, such as OSU Mansfield's RUSS Gardens Project. Featuring speakers who presented topics from beekeeping to soil sustainability, the exhibition was a must for anyone with a green thumb.

The Raising Richland Network is an informal association of over 700 gardeners and 31 community gardens, all organized by NECIC. For more information or to get involved, call 419-525-3101 or email Rochelle Jones at [email protected] to receive the organization's newsletters.
