ASHLAND, OH - Vines Bakery opened its doors at 530 College Avenue in Ashland Friday to a large group of hungry patrons.

Conveniently located on the corner of Claremont and College, Vines Bakery is immediately accessible to the Ashland University Campus.

24 year old owner and baker Julianna Hritz says she fell in love with the location and, being a former student at Ashland University, wanted her business to serve the city of Ashland.

Local dignitaries gathered to take part in a ribbon cutting ceremony presented by Vines Bakery and the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce. Ashland Mayor Matt Miller was among those who arrived to show support, as well as representatives from Congressman Bob Gibbs office and Ashland University.

Vines offers a predominately locally sourced product line including biscotti, baguettes, scones, brownies, cookies, coffees, teas and much more. The treats are made from scratch by Julianna and her staff.

"We try our best to offer what we think the people want" said Hritz "A welcoming environment and a sense of community." Hritz says she prides herself on having a cozy, quaint atmosphere for her customers close by a campus that she has grown to love during her time in Ashland.

Vines Bakery is open Thursday's and Saturday's from 8 AM to 4 PM and Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM.
