ASHLAND, OH - Ghislaine Beaudoin, 61, and her dog, Beast, are walking the 2000-mile trek to raise money for charity.

Beaudoin and Beast are walking from Gatineau, Quebec to Texas in order to raise funds to help people in need of better medical attention.

On her journey, she stopped by Ashland, Ohio and has a chance to talk to Ashland Mayor Matt Miller.

A post on her GoFundMe page details the reason why she is making this journey:

"I am a 61 year old who decided to walk to Texas. In doing this, I also wish to raise funds for helping people in need of better medical attention. For example I would love to contribute to the Sabryna Mongeon rehabilitation. I've known her since she was in elementary school. I would love to see her getting ALL the needs required to give her the best of life.

Beside Sabryna, I am aware that many other health issues are a concern for many parents. It is my wish as well to raise as much funds for them.

My walk is a long walk and I am counting on people's generosity.

With all my heart, thank you,
