ASHLAND COUNTY, OH - The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Ruggles-Troy Fire Department, Ruggles-Troy EMS, Savannah Fire Department, and Firelands EMS responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident at 1520 County Road 500 around 3:05 pm Thursday afternoon.

19-year-old Nathaniel Myers, of Ashland, Ohio was driving Eastbound on County Road 500 in a 2017 Kia when he lost control after going over a hump in the road. Myers’ Kia started toward the right side when Myers swerved left, then right, and left once more, before leaving the road on the left side.

Myers’ vehicle struck the ditch and embankment off the side of the road and rolled over, coming to rest on its top. Both Myers and his 15-year-old passenger were able to climb out of the vehicle and were transported by Firelands EMS to University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center with minor injuries.

Deputy Whalen of the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office said speed was a factor in the crash, and Myers was cited with failure to control his vehicle.

The accident remains under investigation.
