Cleveland Man Narrowly Escapes Serious Injury In Accident

ASHLAND, OH - The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Polk Fire Department, and Polk EMS responded to a construction accident on U.S. Route 42 near Township Road 101 Tuesday morning.

A worker from Independence Excavating was operating a Cat 930M Wheel Loader when it went off the right side of a board road and flipped over.

The operator, Mark Jenkins, 36, of Cleveland, was transported by Polk EMS to University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center in Ashland with minor injuries.

The southbound lane of U.S. Route 42 was shut down until Aber's Towing and Crane Service could clean up the scene.

The accident remains under investigation by the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office.
