Catalyst Life Services To Offer Sign Language Class

MT. GILEAD, OH - The Community Center For The Deaf And Hard Of Hearing is partnering with United Way of Morrow County to offer an American Sign Language class.

The class will be 8 weeks long and held every Wednesday from 6:00 - 7:00 P.M. starting September 26th and wrapping up November 14th. ASL interpreter Kori Boyce will be teaching the class which will be held at the Morrow County Hospital in Conference Room C. The Morrow County Hosptial is located at 651 West Marion Street, Mt. Gilead, OH. 

The class will cost $40 to participate and the cost can be brought or mailed to Catalyst at their facility at 270 Sterkel Boulevard in Mansfield or brought to the first night of class, but you must register beforehand. Register by phone by calling (419) 774-2232.

12 People must commit to the class in order for costs to be covered, and Catalyst reserves their right to cancel it if not enough people register.

Suggested materials for the class include a notebook, something to write with and the book "American Sign Language" by Catherine Nichols which is available for purchase on Amazon. None of these supplies are required.

An additional class will be hosted at the Catalyst Life Services building. That session will take place Thursdays from 6-7:00 P.M. every week for 8 weeks starting August 2nd and ending September 20th. Rebekkah Broughton will teach this session, with all the same recommended materials. Deadline for registration is July 27th.
