BELLVILLE, OH - Thursday was a big day for the village of Bellville as they welcomed Avita Health System into their community.

A VIP ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday evening to commemorate the opening of a new facility that brings specialized care to a community that has gone without for many years. Avita's Vice President of Corporate Relations and Operational Support Kim Winkle led the ceremony which included words from Bellville Mayor Teri Brenkus, Avita Board President Dr. Joseph Shadeed, Avita President & CEO Jerry Morasko, State Senator Larry Obhof and David L. Hall, State Director for USDA Ohio Rural Development.

After the ceremony concluded, guests were treated to a spread of refreshments and given tours of the facility. A plaque in the waiting room proudly dedicates the clinic to Jim and Marge Gorman, land donors who made the facility possible.

The new Avita Bellville walk-in clinic will provide a local resource for folks ailing from non life-threatening injuries or illnesses that need to be addressed promptly, but it is not an Emergency Department; those with life-threatening conditions should still head to the nearest Emergency Department.

In addition to providing general treatment, Avita Bellville will also host specialists including Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Cardiology, General Surgery, and Urology. The newly constructed building boasts 5,775 square feet, 9 exam rooms, 2 procedure rooms and x-ray capability.

The facility is located at 987 State Route 97 West in Bellville near I-71 and directly across from Love's Travel Stop. The facility will open 7 days per week starting Monday, August 13th and will be open 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m but will close on major holidays.
