MANSFIELD, OH - Scott Kotterman was born and raised in Mansfield. Friday morning, his career brought him home.

After 22 years of experience in law enforcement working through the ranks at various agencies, Kotterman was sworn in today and is the newest member of the Mansfield Police Department.

Kotterman is a Graduate of Ontario High School and his father worked at GM growing up. He made the lateral move to Mansfield Police, a very thorough 6-to-8-month long process, to finish his career at home with a group of officers he knows well. After spending time at local agencies and working side by side with MPD, Kotterman expressed that he feels at home with his new coworkers.

Kotterman has worked with Mansfield Police for the last 14 years side by side through training, calls to service and joint casework.

Kotterman said Friday, "It was meant to be. Its one of those feelings where you know you're right."

Join WMFD in wishing best of luck to Officer Kotterman as he starts the next phase of his career.
