Annual 'Strutt Your Mutt' Festival Fills Fairgrounds

MANSFIELD, OH- The Humane Society of Richland County held its 16th annual 'Strutt Your Mutt' Canine Festival on Saturday, September 15th at the Richland County Fairgrounds.

The day was full of activities for both dogs and their owners. There was a rummage sale, a talent show, dog-training demonstrations, raffles, food vendors, and other vendors offering pet-related information and freebies.

This festival is the Humane Society's biggest fundraiser of the year. Entry was free to the public but people were encouraged to bring in donations for the shelter such as puppy/kitten food, cleaning supplies, and non-clumping litter. The rummage sale was also a pay-by-donation event.

Humane Society Executive Director, Missy Houghton, said that if you could not make it out Saturday but still would like to donate, you can do so through the Humane Society's Facebook page or their website at adoptourstrays.com. A list of most-needed supplies can also be found on the website and those donations can be brought directly to the Humane Society.

"We're grateful that our community supports us and comes out to this and has made it a success every single year," Missy said.
