MANSFIELD, OH- Kaelyn Hurst, a senior at Pioneer Technical School in Shelby, hosted a charity drive on Saturday as part of her senior project.

Her project titled "Bikers for Binkies" involved the collection of baby items and monetary donations to be delivered to Akron Children's Hospital via a motorcycle charity run.

The run began at Hale's Harley Davidson in Mansfield with a minimum 10-dollar donation per bike. After a free lunch provided by Hale's, the bikers rode all the way to Akron to hand deliver the donations.

This project was personal to Kaelyn who wanted to give back to the hospital that once helped save her life.

"When I was 16 months old I stopped breathing and I required three rounds of CPR, and then I was transferred up to Akron Children's Hospital where I fully recovered," Kaelyn explained.

A total of 46 bikers participated with donations amounting to $1,160, along with more than 100 baby items.
