Marion Woman Dead After Wednesday Morning Crash

MARION COUNTY - A 28-year-old Marion Woman is dead following a two-vehicle accident early Wednesday Morning near Waldo in Marion County.

At approximately 4:05 A.M. Wednesday morning Rachel Sullivan of Marion was driving a Green 1999 Honda CRV eastbound on Bethlehem road approaching the intersection of US23. Franklin Garcia, age 24 of Miami Beach Florida, was driving a 2015 Volvo tractor-trailer southbound on US 23. Sullivan failed to stop at a posted stop sign and struck Garcia's trailer. The vehicles traveled a short distance south of the intersection before settling. At the time of impact, both the trailer and Sullivan's CRV were engulfed in flames. 

Sullivan was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Coroner Dr. Mark Davis. Garcia was not injured as a result of the crash, nor was his passenger Amaury Sanchez, 45, also of Miami, Florida. 

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers from the Marion post handled the investigation with assistance on the scene from Pleasant Township Fire, Fort Morrow Fire, Marion County Sheriffs Office, The Ohio Department of Transportation and Ed's Towing. 

The crash is still under investigation.
