ONTARIO, OH - The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging presented the 10th annual Positive Aging Expo at the Richland County Fairgrounds on Thursday.

Each year the event provides dozens of resources for aging adults and caregivers, including library services and social security information. This year attendance was up, and 77 different vendors appeared to have one-on-one conversations with aging adults and their caregivers. Busloads of seniors arrived from nine different counties served by the agency.

The theme for 2018 was "Anchors Away," and staff members from the Area Agency on Aging could be seen roaming the venue wearing captain's hats.

Alongside the many helpful resources were some fun and games- BINGO was very popular, and the expo also featured vocal impressionist Randy Velez. Free lunches were provided, and canned food donations were collected in exchange for a chance to win one of many door prizes provided by the vendors.

"This is positive information for when you are aging so that you can make a great decision," said Teresa Cook, Vice President of Marketing and Developing for the Area Agency on Aging. "Can't beat that- information for positive aging, free lunch, and entertainment."
