RICHLAND COUNTY, OH - A rendering of the incoming University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center has been released.

The rendering shows the exterior features of the $17 million health care facility that will be coming to Richland County. The new UH Samaritan Richland Health Center will be built at the former Big Lots site on Ashland Road.

No date has been set for a groundbreaking, but demolition of the old building is planned to be carried out in Mid-October. The timeframe has allowed the Madison Township Fire Department to use the building for training exercises.

CBLH Design, Inc. of Cleveland Ohio designed the building. The first floor of the 33,000 square foot two-story medical building will house urgent care, laboratory, radiology, physical therapy, and community areas. Office suites for specialists and physicians will be on the second floor.

"We're excited about expanding our footprint in the community," said Karen McNeil, president of UH Samaritan Medical Center, said in a press release on July 11th of this year. "We welcome any opportunity to improve our patients' access to health care, and when you can capitalize on that while also creating local jobs, its a win-win situation for all."
