MANSFIELD, OH - Richland Carrousel Park and Studio 19 Salon & Spa teamed up on Friday afternoon to gather the community for a good cause.

"We're actually doing a benefit for Wigs for Kids," said Melissa Cary, the Owner of Studio 19. "Wigs For Kids is an organization where they donate human hair for wigs for children that are ill, whether it be with cancer or some other ailment. They give those wigs to children for free, to help brighten their day and to make them feel beautiful."

Willie Hunn, the Director of Richland Carrousel Park, contacted Melissa and the Studio 19 staff when she was looking for a local salon to help put on the event. Hunn thought that since the Carrousel Park's primary focus is children's happiness, the event would be a good fit.

"I had heard about (Wigs for Kids) about four years ago," Hunn said. "I just got to thinking about it and I thought since we are so involved with children, we need to be doing something like this to help children who have an illness and who have lost their hair. So, we have about 14 people here tonight and I'm hoping others will come to get their hair cut so that we can send it up to Wigs For Kids to get it donated."
