COLUMBUS, OH - Doug Theaker, a board member at Pioneer Career & Technology Center and Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center, will receive the Ohio School Boards Association’s "Veteran Board Member" Award at the association’s 63rd annual Capital Conference and Trade Show on Sunday, Nov. 11th, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Theaker is also the host of WMFD's "I Love My Job" and "Senior Living," and has appeared as a show host for over 20 years.

Both Pioneer Career and Technology Center and Mid-Ohio ESC feel "extremely fortunate " to have Mr. Theaker’s expertise and dedication as a part of their Boards of Education. Both Superintendent Nickoli and Superintendent Keller stated that “No one is more dedicated to education and our country than Mr. Theaker.”

The Veteran Board Member Award is given in recognition of Mr. Theaker’s 25 years of service to Pioneer and MOESC. Of the nearly 3,500 board members in Ohio, only 28 will receive the honor in 2018. In the Spring of 2019, Mr. Theaker will receive an award from the Ohio School Boards Association recognizing a combined 40 years of service to Pioneer, MOESC, and the Ontario Local Schools.

In its 63rd year, the Ohio School Boards Association leads the way to educational excellence by serving Ohio’s public school board members and the diverse districts they represent through superior service, unwavering advocacy and creative solutions.
