RICHLAND COUNTY, OH- Alpaca Meadows's annual Christmas Open House offers visitors a fun way to shop local this holiday season.

The open house takes place on December 1 and 2 from noon to 5pm.

The event allows visitors to see the alpacas, drink hot chocolate and attend Make-N-Take workshops all while shopping for unique holiday gifts.

Owner, Julie Petty said that Alpaca Meadows offers a special shopping experience.

"I think people enjoy the unique shopping experience, that we have to offer.  We have a lot of one of a kind gifts, and they get to see the alpacas that grew the fiber that a lot of the things are made from," Petty said.

The store offers a wide variety of products according to Petty.

"We have lots of handmade and non-handmade alpaca items, from socks to blankets to gloves and hats, and shawls, and ponchos, alpaca yarn, lots of things made out of alpaca," Petty said.

Petty said that the open house is a fun way for people to buy local.

"I think people more and more are wanting to shop local and find unique gifts for Christmas," Petty said.
