MANSFIELD, OH - Residents of Richland County, as well as Erie and Huron Counties, will be able to find assistance in making sure they stay warm during winter.

The Home Energy Assistance Winter Crisis Program provides eligible Ohioans heating assistance if they are disconnected from their heating source, threatened with disconnection, or if they have less than 25 percent supply of bulk fuel. The household must also have a gross income at or below 175 percent of the federal poverty level. For a family of four, the annual income must be at or below $43,925.

The program runs from November 1st, 2018 until March 31st, 2019.

"Working with the CACEHR, we're helping Ohioans manage their energy costs this winter." David Goodman, Director of the Ohio Development Services Agency, said.

More than 3,100 families from Richland, Erie, and Huron counties were assisted through the Home Energy Assistance Winter Crisis Program in 2017. More than 97,816 were helped during last years window statewide.
