ONTARIO, OH - The congregation at Sar Shalom celebrated Hannukah together Tuesday night. Led by Messianic Rabbi William Hallbrook, the crowd worshipped together and expressed their faith despite coming from various backgrounds.

"We kindled the menorah outside as a statement of faith," said Rabbi Hallbrook. "Our congregation is a mix of various people. Some are Jewish, some are not Jewish. Everybody comes from different denominations. We're kind of a blend of the community, which I love."

At the end of the evening, the menorah was lit outside in celebration of Hannukah, with hymns and songs being sung throughout.

"We're called to be a light to our community, and to each other," Hallbrook said.

The service was the second time the menorah lighting was held publicly in the area, with last year's ceremony being held at Sar Shalom's previous location on South Main Street. Over sixty guests attended this year's event.
