BUCYRUS, OH - Bucyrus School District Students spent a day brightening up Bucyrus City hall with Christmas Displays on December 6th.

The students spent several days making ornaments to be displayed throughout city hall as part of a Bucyrus School District program. The program gives students the opportunity to be involved in public service and to build community pride.

"The students really enjoy making the different Christmas ornaments for the City Hall tree and interior," Timothy Souder, Elementary School Principal, said. "It is great that the students get to see the work they've completed on display for the Bucyrus community to enjoy."

High school volunteers included Tyler Bishop, Micah Graves, Lauren Kohler, Alivia Lewis, Sarah Lipscomb, Andrew Mee, Jackson Moody, McKenze Powers, Caleigh Rister, Kael Scott, Karley Spears, Maddyson Stewart, Jade Torres, Kristen Vaughn, and Jordan Whitmore.

"This is always one of our student council's favorite projects," Secondary School Principal Dr. Mark Burke said. "It's a great experience for our students to engage with city leadership and give back to the community."

The decorations will stay at city hall throughout the Christmas season.
