SHELBY, OH - Chief Combs of the Shelby Police Department said this theft was something you'd have to see to believe.

Yesterday area law enforcement was alerted to the possible theft of a shovel attachment for a backhoe when it was delivered to Milliron Recycling to scrap. Upon investigation, authorities discovered that the shovel attachment had in fact been stolen from a business in Mansfield. But the strangest part of this particular theft is the way the stolen item was transported. Several photos and a cell phone video of a vehicle dragging the shovel attachment behind it for miles were discovered.

Officers were able to track down the car and its driver, Mr. Kenneth W. Steagall, who completely denied the crime at first. It took some very convincing photo evidence to elicit a full confession of the theft.

Chief combs posted the photos and a summary of the incident on Facebook, where he advised everyone to not take other people's things... Or drag them behind your car for several miles.
