Bucyrus School Bus Involved In Non-Injury Accident

BUCYRUS, OH - A school bus from the Bucyrus City School District was involved in a minor accident while transporting students on December 14th. 

The bus was on its way to drop off students at Bucyrus Elementary School.

No injuries were sustained by students, the bus driver, or the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident. The bus was able to continue its route and deliver students. 

Parents of the students were notified once district administration became aware of the accident. 

"Our bus driver notified us immediately after the accident happened and we implemented our safety plan immediately," Kevin Kimmel, Bucyrus Superintendent, said. "We are thankful that our students, our bus driver and the driver of the other vehicle were not injured in the accident."

Names of the students, the bus driver and the driver of the other vehicle are not being released at this time. The accident remains under investigation by the Bucyrus Police Department. 

"All the students' families have been contacted as of 9:00 a.m. today (Dec 14th)," Kimmel said. "I want to thank the district's administrative team for their swift response to this situation."
