MANSFIELD, OH - Jeff Wilkinson and Bill Freytag have both retired from their positions at the Richland County Board of Elections, and a celebration was held to commemorate their time serving the community.

Friends, family, and staff gathered at Longview Center on Thursday to eat, drink, and celebrate with the retirees. Jeff Wilkinson, who has served as Chairman of the Board since March of 2017, will not be running for re-election. Bill Freytag has held the position of Deputy Director of the Board of Elections for eight years and looks back on his time happily.

"I wouldn't trade it for the world," Freytag said, "I met so many great people, our office staff has been great to work with."

Although he leaves big shoes to fill, Freytag will be succeeded by Jane Zimmerman, who has previously worked on the Board of Elections in Geauga County.
