MANSFIELD, OH - Leading clergymen from one hundred fifty congregations throughout north central Ohio gathered at BibleWalk Museum to declare 2019 as the "Year of the Bible."

Those leaders gathered at the BibleWalk Museum in Mansfield to make this declaration on January 15th.

According to Pastor Randy Raynes of Mansfield Fellowship Baptist Church, 58 local Bible-based churches and their ministries were surveyed, and the results showed that not only did they provide valuable ministries to their local communities from 2014 to 2017, they also supported missions to 93 nations around the world.

"These findings bolster the fact that the teachings of the Bible can bring out the best in people," Raynes said.

Raynes was joined by Ontario Abundant Life Tabernacle Pastor Jerry Laudermilk, Providence Baptist Pastor Mark Cobb, and Awakening Christian Center Pastor Steve Brenneman.

The clergy declared in the proclamation: "We formally reaffirm the Bible as being living, active and God-breathed; and demonstrating thru history to be the anvil that has worn many hammers out. Consequently, since Bible illiteracy is plaguing our politically-correct society, since the Bible is being censored by governments and cultural institutions, and since the authority of both the Old and New Testament Scriptures of the Bible are being subverted by some religious circles, we do proclaim 2019 as the “Year of the Bible.”
