ONTARIO - Wokano has been open at their new location since December, but on Tuesday a crowd gathered to officially welcome the Ontario staple back with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Owners Rachel and Paul Chen were on hand to cut the ribbon with help from Jodie Perry and her group from the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce. Also on hand were local elected officials including Ontario Mayor Randy Hutchinson and County Commissioner Tony Vero.

Hutchinson was complimentary of the new building, calling it "very beautiful" and commending the Chen family for staying in Ontario and continuing their growth locally. Perry said "Wokano is a mainstay of Richland County. They have a strong following. People love their food and the atmosphere they provide." Perry is one of the many folks in attendance who had good things to say about the Chen family and their restaurant.

The new Wokano building is the old 'Ninja' building in Ontario, 2284 West Fourth Street, just down the street from their old location. The completely remodeled building features a full dining room, a private dining area, 9 different Hibachi grills, and a full slate of made to order sushi. Stop in to try the hibachi, or call ahead and pick up your sushi to go.
