BELLEVUE, OH - The Huron County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of two individuals as a result of a six-month-long investigation.

A search warrant was executed on February 5th, 2019 by the Sheriff's Office at 617 Dewey Street after a suspicious package was intercepted by law enforcement. Nearly 8 times the bulk amount of suspected Methamphetamine was discovered in the residence.

The search warrant also resulted in the arrest of Jacob T. Frost, 27 of 617 Dewey Street, Bellevue. Frost is currently being held in the Huron County Jail on two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Tampering with Evidence, all felonies of the third degree. Frost is being held on a $150,000 bond.

Lawrence A. Straub, 80, also of 617 Dewey Street, Bellevue was arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Possess illegal drugs.

Detectives from the Sheriff's Office and Norwalk Police Department began an investigation in August of 2018 after receiving information Frost was purchasing illegal narcotics via the internet and having them shipped through US Mail to his residence.

Throughout the investigation, Frost was identified by multiple sources as being a large supplier of illegal drugs to Norwalk, Bellevue, and surrounding communities, according to the Huron County Sheriff's Office.

Additional charges are expected in the near future.

The suspected narcotics will be sent to the Huron County Sheriff's Office Crime Lab for testing.

The Huron County Sheriff's Office was assisted during the investigation and search warrant by the Norwalk Police Department, Willard Police Department, Bellevue Police Department, Huron County Prosecutors Office, Erie County Sheriff's Office, and US Postal Service Inspectors.

The Huron County Sheriff's office, Norwalk Police Department, Bellevue Police Department, and Willard Police Department are part of METRICH Enforcement Unit, a ten county drug task force.
