MANSFIELD, OH - Miss Ohio Matti-Lynn Chrisman and Miss Ohio's Outstanding Teen Juliana Heichel joined 30 John Sherman Elementary Students in bringing some Valentine's Day love to Dayspring Assisted Living Friday morning.

The students made cards for each resident and brought along some games to play. Chrisman and Heichel led the crowd in singing a few songs, and everyone spent time coloring and snacking on potato chips and soda donated by Graham Auto Mall. The event, like many others hosted at Dayspring on various holidays, was put together by Doc Stumbo.

"It's very exciting for the residents and the kids," said Dayspring Activities Director Amy Clark. "The residents have been looking forward to it since Monday."

"We're just trying to have some fun and bring some bright smiling faces to this building," said Matti-Lynn Chrisman, Miss Ohio 2018. She and Miss Ohio's Teen also spent some time signing autographs and taking photos with kids and residents. "It feels really good, the Mansfield community is so supportive in every single way... it feels really good to sit back and have a conversation with some of these kids and some of the residents."

Events like these are put on for most major holidays, in addition to an annual picnic also organized by Doc Stumbo, but he doesn't always have celebrities with him. Students will be back before long to sing and play with Dayspring residents again, hopefully with more special guests.
