Video Released Of Richland Jail Inmate-Officer Confrontation

MANSFIELD, OH - Video shows a confrontation between a Richland County Jail Inmate and a Corrections Officer that took place on January 8th. 

According to a police report, Corrections Officer Strong approached Inmate Tracey Brooks and instructed her to turn around to handcuff up, which Brooks refused. 

When Strong grabbed the wrist of Brooks, Brooks hit Strong in the face and knocked her to the ground. Brooks then climbed on top of Strong and placed her hands on her neck. According to the police report, Brooks was digging her nails into the neck of Strong. 

Multiple officers then arrived to assist Strong and detain Brooks. 

Photographs of Strong's injuries were photographed and were taken in as evidence. Multiple statements from corrections officers, inmates, and a nurse were taken. 

On January 9th, a warrant was issued and served to Tracey Brooks for Felonious Assault.
