Two-Vehicle Ashland Co Crash Leads To Serious Injuries

VERMILLION TOWNSHIP, ASHLAND COUNTY - Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a "serious injury crash" involving two vehicles that occurred Wednesday afternoon around 12:22 PM.

The crash occurred on County Road 775 when a 2009 Ford Fusion lost control while traveling northbound due to drifting snow. The Fusion went left-of-center and struck a 2007 Volvo Semi Truck head-on. The Volvo had previously been stopped due to another crash that had recently happened in the same area.

The driver of the Volvo, Richard G. Boggs, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The driver of the Ford Fusion was life-flighted to University Hospital in Cleveland with life-threatening injuries. Alcohol and drugs are not considered to be contributing factors in this crash. The crash is currently under investigation.
