MANSFIELD, OH - At the February Board of Trustees meeting of the Richland County Foundation, the Foundation members pledged up to $1,000,000 in a grant to the "Imagination District" Project as outlined in the Foundation's "Mansfield Rising" plan.

The plan was created by 15 local citizens to continue the revitalization of the Downtown Mansfield area, providing multiple arts and education experiences while strengthening the ties between the edges of the city and the downtown area.

The Little Buckeye Children's Museum and the Renaissance Performing Arts Association established the fund for the "Imagination District" project with a joint capital fundraising effort that aims to raise around $6 million. Of that $6 million goal, $1.5 million will go to the Renaissance Education Center with $4.5 million going to the new Little Buckeye Children's Museum location.

Up to $500,000 of the grant award will come from the Leona M. Miles fund, which supports various projects benefiting children with developmental disabilities throughout the county. The rest of the $500,000 will come from the community fund at the RCF.
