MANSFIELD, OH - The United Way Of Richland County Dash To The Goal Event received a fast start to this year's goal.

This year's goal for the fundraiser is $1.425 million dollars. As of Friday morning, the United Way has raised about 93% of that goal, with a total of $1.327 million dollars.

An event was held Friday at Graham Auto Mall to raise the last bit of money that will go towards helping local area businesses and non-profits.

"We are going to do everything we can to push and get that last bit, because we know there are so many agencies and programs that are depending on us to raise as much money as possible to support them because they support so many in our community." Dan Varn, Executive Director of the United Way of Richland County, stated. "

MIX 106.1 broadcasted live from Graham Auto Mall for a majority of the morning.

At the event, The Richland County Foundation provided a donation from an anonymous donor totaling $50,000.

"This was something that was unexpected," Mark Masters, President, and CEO of Mechanics Bank said. "We hope that it is a catalyst for even more donations throughout the day."

Last year the campaign exceeded its goal. The expectation this year is to do the exact same, especially with this years goal being higher than last years.

"We hope that the community will rise to the occasion," Masters said. "and help us help those agencies that do so much good for the people in our community."
